1893 - Born on December 12th in Bucharest, Romania.

1903 - Edward G. Robinson arrived in the United States at age ten, and his family moved into New York's Lower East Side.

1910-1912 - Attended to City College of New York.

1913 - The American Academy of Dramatic Arts awarded him a scholarship, and he began work in stock, with his new name.

1923 - His film debut was a small supporting part in the silent The Bright Shawl, but it was with the coming of sound that he hit his stride.  

1927 - Married to Gladys Lloyd on January 21st.

1931 - His stellar performance as snarling, murderous thug Rico Bandello in Little Caesar.

1958 - Married to Jane Bodenheimer on Janaury 16th.

1973 - Died from cancer on January 26th in Hollywood, California. His remains were buried on Goodman Mausoleum, Beth El Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.

         - He was awarded a special, posthumous Oscar for lifetime achievement.

         - His autobiography All My Yesterdays: An Autobiography with Leonard Spigelgass was published.
