Robert, Henry Martyn
1837 - Born on the 2nd of May in Robertville, South Carolina.
1857 - Graduating fourth in his class at West Point.
1867 - 1871 - Served as Engineer of the Army's Division of the Pacific.
1876 - He is most famous for his Pocket Manual of Rules of Order for Deliberative Assemblies -- a collection of rules regarding parliamentary procedure, published.
1895 - 1901 - He was president of the Board of Engineers.
1897 - 1901 - Served as Southwest Division Engineer.
1901 - He was made brigadier general on the 30th of April, and was appointed Chief of Engineers.
- He served until 2nd of May, when he retired from the Army.
1902 - He chaired a board of engineers that designed the Galveston seawall following the Galveston Hurricane.
1923 - Died on the 11th of May in Hornell, New York.
