1922 - Yitzhak Rabin, born on the 1st of March in Jerusalem, Israel. He was an Israeli politician and general.

1948 - 1949 - He embarked on an army career, completing his training in Britain. He fought in the War of Independence and represented the Israeli Defence Forces at the armistice in Rhodes.

1964 - He rose to become chief-of-staff.

1967 - Headed the armed forces during the Six-Day War.

1968 - 1973 - Served as ambassador to the USA.

1974 - 1977 - Became Prime Minister of Israel.

1977 - He became Labour Party leader and prime minister, and resigned when involved in a scandal over accounts he kept in the USA.

1984 - 1990 - He later served as defence minister.

1992 - He was re-elected as Labour Party leader, and became prime minister again later that year.

1994 - He shared the Nobel Peace Prize.

1995 - He was assassinated by Yigal Amir, a 27-year old right-wing Israeli law student on the 4th of November in Tel Aviv, Israel.
