Pratt, David
1955 - David Pratt, born on the 3rd of January in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian Politician.
1988 - He was elected to the Nepean City Council.
1991 - He was also elected to the Ottawa Carleton Regional Council.
1997 - Liberal, elected to Canadian House of Commons.
1997 - 2004 - He was the Member of Parliament for Nepean—Carleton.
2001 - 2003 - He was Chair of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs.
2003 - Served as a Special Envoy for the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Sierra Leone.
- He supported the U.S. invasion of Iraq, and Paul Martin appointed Pratt as Canadian Defense Minister.
2003 - 2004 - Served as Canada's 36th Minister of National Defence in the Cabinet of Canada.
2004 - He lost his seat and Ministry when the Liberal party lost its majority in the year's election.
2005 - He was appointed as an Advisor and Special Ambassador to the Canadian Red Cross. He is currently working in the area of conflict prevention and international humanitarian law.
