1916 - Born on the 28th of May in Birmingham, Alabama.

 

1941 - Trained as a medical doctor at Columbia University in New York City, receiving his medical degree.

 

1946 - Married Mary Bernice Townsend, a medical technician, on th of November.

 

1961 - Published his first novel, The Moviegoer.

 

1962 - Won the National Book Award for Fiction.

 

1966-1987 - Wrote The Last Gentleman (1966), Love in the Ruins (1971), Lancelot (1977), The Second Coming (1980), and The Thanataos Syndrome in 1987. Nonfiction "The Message in the Bottle: How Queer Man Is, How Queer Language Is, and What One Has to Do with the Other" 1975, "Lost in the Cosmos: The Last Self-Help Book" 1983, "Novel-Writing in an Apocalyptic Time" 1986.

 

1990 - Walker Percy died on 10th of May because of prostate cancer.
