1904 - Born on October 23rd in Austin. An American golfer and golf instructor.
1912 - At age eight he began caddying at the Austin Country Club.
1917 - At thirteen he became an assistant professional.
1923 - Upon graduating from Austin High School, became head professional of the club, then located at the site that became Hancock Park.
1929 - He married Helen Holmes, of Whitesboro, and they had a daughter and a son.
1931 - Penick coached, mostly without pay, the University of Texas golf team to twenty-two Southwest Conferenceqv titles.
1932 - He was president of the Texas chapter of the Professional Golfers Association.
1950 - He moved to ACC's Riverside Drive location.
1971 - He retired to Golf professional emeritus status.
1972 - A broken back resulted in degenerative arthritis and increasing immobility and pain in later years.
1979 - He was inducted into both the Texas Golf Hall of Fame,
1984 - Was relocated with the club to its present site on Lake Austin.
- He was inducted in the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
1989 - Was the PGA's first National Teacher of the Year.
1992 - He wrote golf manual "Harvey Penick's Little Red Book: Lessons and Teachings from a Lifetime in Golf" (best-selling sports book in history).
1995 - He died on April 2nd, at his home near ACC. Penick was part of the first American generation to succeed the English and Scottish professionals who brought the game to the United States.
- He received a posthumous resolution in the Texas House of Representatives.
