1653 - Oldham was born in Shipton Moyne, Gloucestershire on August 9, 1653.

 

1674 - Oldham received his B.A. degree from the University of Oxford. Became an usher at Croyden School, where the Earl of Rochester visited him to complimeny him on his poetry.

 

1678 - Oldham was best known for his works: "A Satire Upon a Woman Who by Her Falsehood" and "Scorn Was the Death of My Friend".

 

1683 - Oldham died of smallpox in Holm Pierrepont near Nottingham on December 7, 1683.
