1880 - Born on the 19th of February in Navojoa, Sonora.
1911 - He entered politics as a mayor of the town of Huatabampo.
1914 - He joined Venustiano Carranza in revolt against Huerta's new government, and succeeded in forcing Huerta from power.
1920 - He organized the military in a revolt against the president.
- He was known for the agrarian and anticlerical reforms he instituted and for the cultivation of good relations with the United States.
1928 - He ran again for office, winning a second term as president after a bitterly contested election.
- He returned to Mexico City to celebrate his victory, but was assassinated in a restaurant.
- He died on the 17th of July in Mexico City.
