1886 - Born on November 7th in Riga, Latvia, Russian Empire. Latvian-born chess master and theoretician who was renowned for his book My System but failed to win a world championship, despite many attempts.
1894 - Nimzowitsch learned to play chess from his father, a wholesale merchant, when he was eight years old.
1904 - Nimzowitsch went to Germany to study philosophy, but soon Caissa cast her spell on him.
- Participated in the Coburg Hauptturnier. This became the beginning of a long and glorious carrier as a professional chess player, which was to last for more than 30 years.
- Aron Nimzowitsch was the founder of Hypermodernism. He was a renewer, and he wanted to be recognized as such.
1922 - Nimzowitsch settled in Copenhagen.
1925 - Wrote his book My System.
1935 - Died on March 16th in Denmark.
