1925 - He moved to New York and held various jobs in the entertainment industry.
1936 - He married Rena Lipetz.
1938 - He recorded a number of his compositions and transcribed songs.
1950 - He was an important influence on the American Folk Music Revival.
1980 - He died on the 1st of March in Lexington, Kentucky.
