Phyllis Reynolds Naylor

1933 - Born on the 4th of January in Anderson, Indiana.

1960 -The author married Dr. Rex Naylor, a speech pathologist; the couple has two children, Jeffrey and Michael.

1965 - Naylor published her first book, The Galloping Goat and Other Stories, a collection of stories originally published in magazines.

1977 - She published Crazy Love: An Autobiographical Account of Marriage and Madness, an adult nonfiction title about her experience.

1983 - The Mad Gasser of Bessledorf Street.

1985 - The Agony of Alice.

1982 - A String of Chances.

1989 - She published The Craft of Writing the Novel, an informational book for adults.

1992 - She is perhaps best known as the author of Shiloh, a story for middle graders about a West Virginia boy and an abused dog that won the Newbery Medal.

2003 - Bernie Magruder & the Bats in the Belfry.
