150 BCE - Nagasena was a Buddhist sage who lived about the 1st century before Christ.

 

He was the founder of Mahayana Buddhism. 

 

Learned the Tripitaka under the Greek Buddhist monk Dhammarakkhita near Pataliputta.

 

43 BCE - According to legends this was the time when Nagasena created the "Emerald Buddah". 

 

His teachers Rohaa, Assagutta of Vattaniya and another teacher named Âyupâla from Sankheyya near Sâgala.
