1977 - Randy Moss was born on the 13th of February in Rand, West Virginia. At Dupont High School, Moss was a star athlete who ran the 40 yard dash in 4.25 seconds and had nearly a three-foot vertical! Besides playing football, Randy Moss was also a star at basketball, baseball and track. He's one of the best wide receivers in the NFL and the Minnesota Vikings' most dangerous weapon.
1995 -He was offered a football scholarship to Notre Dame. Moss was all set to join the Fighting Irish but after he got into a fight during the last month of high school, Notre Dame revoked the scholarship offer.
1996 - He eventually ended up playing college football at Marshall, where he tied an NCAA record by scoring 28 touchdowns and led the Marshall Thundering Herd to the NCAA Division I-AA title. While Moss loved playing football, he didn't really like the academics of college.
1998 - He left Marshall after two years and was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
- With immense ability, soft hands and big ego made him an NFL superstar almost instantly. In his rookie year with the Vikings, Randy Moss had over 1,300 yards receiving, scored a league-high 17 touchdowns, and helped the Vikings go 15-1 during the regular season. Randy Moss has already set several NFL records during his short NFL career. He's been named to the Pro Bowl five times and is the only NFL receiver in history to record 1,000 yards in his first six seasons. While Randy Moss has had great success on the field, his record off the field hasn't exactly been perfect.
2001 - In November, he was booted off an airplane, after being accused of yelling at a flight attendant.
2002 - He was arrested and charged after being accused of knocking over a Minnesota traffic cop over with his car.
2003 - Regular season, where he became the first wide receiver in history to play more than 12 games (he played 16) while averaging over 100 yards and one touchdown per contest. He finished with 111 receptions for 1,632 yards and 17 touchdowns. All three of the numbers either tied or became a new personal best.
2005 - On the 2nd of March, He was traded to the Oakland Raiders for linebacker Napoleon Harris and the Raiders' 1st round (7th overall, which Minnesota parlayed into WR Troy Williamson) and 7th round picks in the NFL draft.
2006 - On the 19th of September, He stated he wanted to win a Super Bowl soon whether it be at Oakland or someplace else.
- On the 14th of November, He was honored for his success in college as a kick returner by having an award named after him, becoming only one of two black athletes (John Mackey) so honored.
