1775 - Served with out distinction as president pro tempore of King's College.
1784-1786 - Episcopal Bishop; Prof. Rhetoric and Logic at Columbia.
1800 - Accepted rectorship of Trinity Church, New York City.
1801-1811 - Served as actual president of Columbia (fifth president).
- He was consecrated bishop of New York.
- His duties as bishop were assumed by his assistant John H. Hobart, because of Moore's paralysis.
1816 - He died.
