Milhaud, Darius
1892 - Born on September 4th in Aix-en Provence, France. A principal French composer of the 20th century known especially for his development of polytonality (simultaneous use of different keys).
1918 - On his return to Paris, Milhaud was for a time in the circle of Jean Cocteau and a member of the diverse group of French composers known as Les Six.
1925 - Married to Madeline on May 4th.
1940 - Was a professor in Mills College in Oakland, California.
1947 - A professor in Paris Conservatoire.
1974 - Died on June 22nd in Geneva, Switzerland.
