1940 - Born on August 22nd in Riverview, Michigan. An AMerican Christian evangelist and football coach.

1982 - Was head football coach of the University of Colorado.

1989 - Became the Walter Camp Coach of the Year.

         - Received Paul "Bear" Bryant Award.

1990 - He founded Promise Keepers.

         - He wrote the autobiography "From Ashes to Glory".

1996 - Inducted in the Orange Bowl Hall of Fame.

1997 - He wrote "Sold Out: Becoming Man Enough to Make a Difference" and organized "Stand in the Gap: A Sacred Assembly of Men" Promise Keepers convocation in Washington D.C.

1999 - Inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.
