1948 – He was born on the 2nd day of June of this year in Sioux City, Iowa, USA.

1954 - His early movies included “This Is My Love” and “Men of the Fighting Lady” both in this year.

1955 – He was only 7 years of age when he starred in the movie “The Trouble with Harry” this year. He also appeared in “The Seven Little Foys” and “The Trouble with Harry”.

1957 – He became popular for his role in the television sitcom series Leave it to Beaver (1957-1963), in which he starred as Ward and June Cleaver's (played by Hugh Beaumont and Barbara Billingsley, respectively) youngest son.

1962 – Near the end of the run of the original show, Mathers recorded two songs for a single 45 rpm: Don't 'Cha Cry, a retread of Spanish Harlem; and for the flip side, the twist ditty, Wind-Up Toy ("Wind-up Toy! Wind-up Toy! Say, when you gonna treat me like a real live boy.")

1969 – In this year, incorrect reports of his death were put out by Associated Press and United Press International when a similarly-named soldier was killed.

1974 - As he moved into his teenage years, Mathers retired from acting to concentrate on school. He suffered from dyslexia in his early life. Mathers graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a BA degree in philosophy in this year.

1978 – He re-entered the entertainment industry.

1983 - Mathers starred in a Leave It to Beaver reunion movie and in a subsequent revival television series, Still the Beaver, reprising his role as Theodore Cleaver.

1987 - He has also been in “It's Howdy Doody Time” this year, and “Down the Drain” in 1990, and Sexual Malice in 1994.

1996 - Mathers was diagnosed with diabetes in this year.

1998 - He has starred in Playing Patti in this year.

2002 – His last film was “Better Luck Tomorrow”.
