1827 - She got married to the Comte Charles d'Agoult.
1833 - She met and fell in love with the Hungarian composer and virtuoso pianist Franz Liszt.
- She left her husband and lived openly as Franz' mistress and had three children.
1844 - Published "Nelidad", a thinly-veiled fictional account of her affair with Liszt. "Nelida" was a "succes de scandale", but she focused more and discovered her talents in analytics and commentary.
