Marie Catherine Sophie de Flavigny

1805 - Born on December 31 in  Frankfurt-on-Main. Married name the Comtesse d'Agoult; pen name Daniel Stern.

1827 - She got married to the Comte Charles d'Agoult.

1833 - She met and fell in love with the Hungarian composer and virtuoso pianist Franz Liszt.

         - She left her husband and lived openly as Franz' mistress and had three children.

1844 - Published "Nelidad", a thinly-veiled fictional account of her affair with Liszt. "Nelida" was a "succes de scandale", but she focused more and discovered her talents in analytics and commentary.

1847 - Earned her considerable respect in journalism with the publication of Essai sur la liberte.

1876 - Died March 5 in Paris.
