39 - Lucan was born in Cordova in Spain on November 3rd. His minor works have perished except for a few fragments, but all that the author wrote of the "Pharsalia" has come down to us.
64 - His loyalty was no-longer favoured the Emperor. The reason remains unknown. Joining in a conspiracy to overthrow the young Emperor, Lucan became a member of the Calpurnius Piso.
65 - He committed suicide at the order of the emperor Nero on April 30th.
