1954 - Born on November 24th in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.
1981 - He made the successful feature debut Sjecas li se, Dolly Bell which won best first film Golden Lion in Venice Film Festival.
1986-1988 - He played bass guitar in "Zabranjeno Pusenje", a rock band from his hometown Sarajevo.
1989 - He co-wrote the screenplays "Time of the Gypsies" and "Underground".
1993-1995 - Directed the films, Underground and Arizona Dream.

- Underground, bitter surrealistic comedy about Balkan, scripted by Dusan Kovacevic, took him second Golden Palm at Cannes Film Festival.
