Krleza, Miroslav
1893 - Born in Croatia's capital Zagreb on the 7th of July.
1912 - He defected for Serbia as a volunteer for the Serbian army, but was dismissed as a suspected spy.
1918 - Member of the Yugoslav Communist Party, he was expelled because of his unorthodox views on art, intellectual freedom and unwillingness to give open support to Stalin's purges.
1919 - Krleza was the driving force behind literary and political reviews Plamen.
1923 - Knjizevna republika.
1934 - Danas.
1939 - Pecat.
1945 - Krleza was condoned for his ideological sins and rehabilitated by Marshal Tito.
1951 - He became the head of what is now the Croatian Institute for lexicograph.
1962 - He got NIN award for novel Zastave.
1981 - Died on the 29th of December.
