1973 - Jason Frederick Kidd was born on the 23rd of March in San Francisco, California. He grew up in Alameda, near Oakland, and the first sport he started playing as a kid was soccer. He currently plays for the New Jersey Nets, after playing for the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns.
1991 - He became a star in high school hoops, where he led St. Joseph of Notre Dame High School to a state championship.
1993 - After winning the Naismith Award for being the top high school hoopster in America, he went to college at the University of California at Berkeley. Kidd led the Golden Bears to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in his freshman year and was named the Pac 10 Player Of The Year after his sophmore season.
1994 - He entered the NBA Draft and was picked second overall by the Dallas Mavericks.
- Kidd helped the Mavericks win 23 more games than they did the year before and shared Rookie Of The Year honors with Grant Hill of the Detroit Pistons. After two seasons in Dallas, Jason Kidd was traded to the Phoenix Suns, where he continued his rise to NBA stardom.
1998 - He led the NBA in assists and was named to the league's First All-Star Team.
2001 - After another early playoff exit, the Suns traded Jason Kidd to the New Jersey Nets. Kidd was a savior for the Nets who had an NBA bottom-feeder for years.
2004 - In his first two seasons with New Jersey, Kidd led the Nets to back-to-back appearances in the NBA Finals and the team is a favorite to be in the finals once again.
