Moved to Dallas where he attended Southern Methodist University.

1988-1996 - Served as the President, Chairman, and CEO of Texas Instruments, Incorporated.

1996 - Jerry Ray Junkins died on the 29th of May.

Dallas ISD elementary school in Carrollton, Texas named Junkins Elementary School was named after Junkins.
