1960 - Graduated from Royal Grammar School, Guildford.

1964 - Graduated from St. Edmund Hall College, Oxford University. Terry Jones attended Cambridge's arch-rival Oxford, where he worked with the Experimental Theatre Club. Upon his graduation, Jones was hired as a BBC staff writer.

1969-1972 - He was one of the comedy conspirators on the internationally popular Monty Python's Flying Circus, remaining with the Python crowd through several theatrical films.

         - Married his bochemist wife, Alison Telfer.

1975 - He directed the films "The Wind in the Willows", "Erik the Viking", "Personal Services", "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life", "Life of Brian" and "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

1979-1983 - Served as director on Monty Python's the Life of Brian and Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. On his own, he wrote and performed in the TV series Secrets, Ripping Yarns and So This is Progress.

1986-1989 - Terry Jones' non-Python film directorial efforts include Personal Services and Erik the Viking. He also wrote the screenplay for Labyrinth and adapted his stage play Consuming Passions for the screen.
