1495 - Born in Montemor Noro, Portugal on the 8th of March.
1550 - He died on the 8th of March, his 55th birthday.
1690 - He was canonized by Pope Alexander VIII in 1690, and was later named the patron saint of hospitals, the sick, nurses, firefighters and booksellers.
