1900 - Born in India of Scottish descent on the 23rd of October.
1928 - He made his Test debut for England against the West Indies at Lord's.
- His skills displayed throughout the year led Wisden to name Jardine a Wisden Cricketer of the Year.
1929 - He toured Australia with the English team.
1930 - Jardine did not play in the English Test series against the touring Australian team because he preferred to attend to business appointments that summer.
1932-1933 - Jardine was appointed captain of the English touring team to Australia, and used the Bodyline tactics ruthlessly and effectively against his opposition.
1934 - He retired from first class cricket aged 33.
1958 - Died on the 18th of June from lung cancer aged 57, in Montreux, Switzerland.
