1793 - Born on the 24th of May.

1821 - He attended newly-founded Deerfield Academy and was ordained as a Congregationalist pastor.

1825 - He held that post from serving as Professor of Natural Theology.

1830 - He ran the first geological survey of Massachusetts, and was appointed state geologist of Massachusetts

1845 - Hitchcock became President of the College.

         - His collections, a bust and portrait can be viewed at the Amherst College Museum of Natural History.

1864 - Died on the 27th of February.
