1778 - Born on the 1st of November in Stockholm, sweden.

 

1792-1809 - Became the King of Sweden.

 

1797 - Gustav married Frederica, daughter of Charles Frederick, grand-duke of Baden

 

1809 - On 29th of March Gustav, in order to save the crown for his son, voluntarily abdicated.

 

         - On the 19th of May the Riksdag of the Estates, dominated by the army, declared that not merely Gustav but his whole family had forfeited the throne.

 

         - On 5th of June the duke regent was proclaimed king under the title of Charles XIII, after accepting the new liberal constitution, which was ratified by the diet the same day.

 

1837 - He suffered a stroke and died on 7th of February.

 

He was the son of Gustav III of Sweden and his queen consort Sophie Magdalen.
