1853 - Born on January 22nd in Wimbledon, Surrey, England. English theologian, Anglican bishop, and an exponent of the liberal tendency within the Anglo-Catholic movement.

1892 - Gore founded the Community of the Resurrection, a religious community of men with a stong Christian social commitment.

1894 - He began a seven-year ministry as canon of Westminster.

1900 - Gore urged CR to work in South Africa and CR trained most of its black Anglican priests including Desmond Tutu.

1902 - Anglican bishop of Worcester.

1905 - Anglican bishop of Birmingham.

1911 - Anglican bishop of Oxford.

1932 - Died on January 17th in London.
