Goldfield, Randy
1949 - Born in New York. American novelist, who used her own bitter divorce experience as the basis of her best-known work, The First Wives Club, in which three women whose wealthy husbands divorce them in order to acquire young trophy wives get their revenge
- Her real name was Randy Goldfield and was changed to Justine Rendal. Wrote under the pen name of Olivia Goldsmith.
1992 - Her first novel was turned into the feature film The First Wives Club.
2004 - Died from heart attack and complications related to anesthesia on January 15th in Manhattan, New York.
- Wrote the novels: Flavor of the Month, Fashionably Late, The Bestseller, Marrying Mom, Switcheroo, Young Wives, Bad Boy, Pen Pals and Dumping Billy.
