1915 - The Laurium Baseball Team was the champion of the Upper Peninsula with George Gipp playing center field.

1917 - Was the fullback for Notre Dame.

1919 - Gipp was expelled from Notre Dame, allegedly for cutting classes.

1920 - During the Illinois game on November 20nd that Gipp contracted a serious streptococcic infection of the throat.

         - He died on December 14th at 3:27 AM.

1935 - The George Gipp Memorial Park was dedicated on August 3rd.
