Frantisek Kucera

1968 - Born February 3 in Prague, Czechoslovakia.

         - Retired professional ice hockey defenseman.

1985-1991 - Played with Sparta Praha and Dukla Jihlava.

         - He competed at the 1986 European Junior Championships and was selected to the tournament all-star team.

       - Chosen 77th overall in 1986 by the Chicago Black Hawks.

       - Helped Czechoslovakia win the silver medal at the 1987 World Junior Championships and finished fourth with the team in 1988.

       -Played for his country at the 1989 World Championships and the 1991 Canada Cup.

1990-1991 - He played 40 games for Chicago.

1993-1994 - Became a regular until he was traded to the Hartford Whalers.

         - Played for Czech Republic World Championships but the team finished at sixth place.

1995 - He joined the Vancouver Canucks in December but spent more time with the team's AHL affiliate in Syracuse.

1997-1998 - Played for Philadelphia Flyers in March.

       - Spent the rest of the season in the minors. He went home to play for Sparta Praha     domestically and in the European Hockey League.

       - He also played six games for the Czech Republic when they won the gold medal at the 1998 Nagano Olympics.
