1867 - Irving N. Fisher, born in Saugerties, New York, USA on the 27th of February. One of the most colourful economists, he is remembered for his brilliant and enduring exposition of economic theory.
1892 - 1930 - Among his many books are Mathematical Investigations in the Theory of Value and Prices, Appreciation and Interest, The Nature of Capital and Income, The Rate of Interest, The Making of Index Numbers, and Theory of Interest.
1892 - 1935 - He taught at Yale University. His contributions include crystallizing the distinctions between stocks and flows, clarifying the science of accounting at the individual level, and for explaining the economy as a whole.
1912 - He also became a member of the scientific advisory to the Eugenics Record Office and served as the secretary of the American Eugenics Society.
1929 - His invention of a visible index file system led to considerable financial success, but he suffered heavy losses in the stock market crash.
1947 - Died on the 29th of April in New Haven Conneticut due to Cancer.
