1170 - Born in Pisa. An Italian mathematician who wrote "Liber abaci" (“Book of the Abacus”).

1202 - Wrote Liber abaci (“Book of the Abacus”), the first European work on Indian and Arabian mathematics.         
  - The discoverer and eponym of Fibonacci sequence.

1225 - He dedicated his Liber quadratorum (“Book of Square Numbers”) to Frederick.
