1928 - He married to Avarilla Hildenbrand.
1931 - He awarded his Doctor of Philosophy.
1947 - He became a professor of Geology in Columbia University, U.S.A.
1959 - He was named the Higgins Professor of Geology at Columbia.
1965 - He married for the second time, this time to Harriet Greene Bassett.
1972 - He joined the University of Texas Medical Branch.
1974 - He died on the 4th of May.
