Everest, George, Sir

1790 - Born on the 4th of July in Gwernvale Manor near Crickhowell, in Powys, Wales.

1791-  He was baptised in St Alfege's Church, Greenwich, London, England.

1806 - He travelled to India as a cadet.

1814 - He was selected to take part in the reconnaissance of Java, Indonesia .

1818 - He appointed as a assistant Colonel.

1830 - He was appointed Surveyor-General of India.

1843 - He as a Surveyor-General of India.

         - He returned to England.

1862 - He was elected Vice-President of the Royal Geographical Society.

1866 - He died on the 1st of December in Greenwich, London, England.
