1926 - Ruth Etting made her first record. She starred on Broadway, made movies in Hollywood, married a mobster, had number-one-hit-records, fell in love and was known as America's Sweetheart of Song.

1938 - Married to Myrl Alderman on December.

1978 - Died on September 24th in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
