1960 - She obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree in University of Arkansas Medical School,

1967 - She earned his master's degree in Biochemistry.

        - She served as an assistant professor in pediatrics in the University of Arkansas
           Medical Center.

1971 - She was promoted as an associate professor in the University of Arkansas Medical Center.

1987 - She appointed as a Director of the Arkansas Department of Health.

1992 - She was elected as a President of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officers.
