1659 - Dunton was born at Graffham, Huntingdonshire on May, 4 1659.

 

1674 - Dunton at the age of fifteen, he became an apprentice to Thomas Parkhurst, a bookseller.

 

1688 - Dunton was appointed as the treasurer of the Whig apprentices, became a bookseller at The Sign of the Raven. He married Elizabeth Annesley. Elizabeth managed his business, so that he was left free in a great measure to follow his own eccentric devices.
