1460 - William Dunbar was born.

1477 - His name appears in the Register of the Faculty of Arts at the University of St Andrews, among the Determinants or Bachelors of Arts

1479 - The masters of the university.

1491 - He spent a few years in Picardy, and was still abroad when.

1500 - Dunbar had meanwhile returned to Scotland, and had become a priest at court, and a royal pensioner.

1501 - He proceeded with that prelate to England on his more successful mission.

 

1503 - Wrote poem "The Thrissil and the Rois".

 

1511 - He accompanied the queen to Aberdeen and commemorated her visit in verse.

1520 - He certainly survived his royal patron. We may not be far out in saying that he died.
