Davis, George Whitefield
1839 - Born in the village of Thompson, Connecticut, he was an engineer and Major General in the United States Army.
1885 - Assistant engineer on the construction project to build the Washington Monument, and was featured guests at the dedication ceremony.
1895 - He filled on opening on the Antietam Battlefield Board.
1899 - 1900 - Served as a military Governor of Puerto Rico.
1904 - 1905 - Became the first military Governor of the Panama Canal Zone.
1907 - 1915 - Chairman of the central committee of the American Red Cross.
1918 - He died on 21st of July.
