1723 - Samuel Davies was born in New Castle County, Delaware.
Studied in Samuel Blair's famous school at Fagg's Manor, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
1753 - He was chosen as Princeton trustees to go to Great Britain and Ireland in search of donations for the College.
1755 - At the age of 22 he was licensed to preach by the Presbytery of New Castle.
1756 - Ordained as an evangelist to Virginia.
1758 - Elected to succeed Jonathan Edwards as president of the Princeton College but he declined.
1759 - The trustees re-elected him president of Princeton University and took up his duties on 26th of July.
- On 4th of February, he died of pneumonia.
