1460 - Born in Oudewater, Netherlands. Dutch painter and was the last great master of the Bruges school.

1484-1501 - He had formed his early style under the tuition of Oudewater; that he joined the guild of St. Luke at Bruges and became dean of the guild.

- He married Cornelia Cnoop, daughter of the dean of the Goldsmiths' guild and became one of the leading citizens of the town.

1523 - Died on August 13th in Bruges, Netherlands and was buried in the Church of Our Lady at Bruges.
