Studied at the Corcoran School of Art, then went to London and studied under Frank Brangwyn.

 

Wrote and illustrated "Andy and the Lion" 1938, "Daniel Boone" 1939.

 

1940 - His book Daniel Boone won the Newbery Medal.

 

1974 - James Henry Daugherty died on 21st of February.
