1870 - Chittaranjan Das was born on the 5th of November. He was a Bengali lawyer and a major figure in the Indian independence movement.
1909 - He began his public career began when he successfully defended Aurobindo Ghosh on charges of involvement in the previous year's Alipore bomb case.
1919-1922 - He was a leading figure in Bengal during the Non-Cooperation Movement and initiated the ban on British clothes.
He founded the Swaraj Party to express his non-moderate opinions.
1925 - He died on 5th of November.
