Dare, Virginia
1587 - Born on the 18th of August in Roanoke Island, Virginia. The first English child born in America. She was given the name Virginia because she was the first Christian born in Virginia.
- The Dares were among the approximately 120 settlers who left England on 8th of May on an expedition sponsored by Sir Walter Raleigh.
