1813 - Georges Darboy was born on the 16th of January in Fayl-Billot, Haute-Marne in northeast France.


1836 - Studied with distinction at the seminary at Langres, and was ordained priest.


1859 - He was appointed bishop of Nancy.


1863 - In January he was raised to the archbishopric of Paris.


1871 - On 4th of April, he was arrested by the communards as a hostage and confined in the prison at Mazas.


       - On 24th of May he was shot within the prison along with several other prominent hostages.
