Dalton, John Nichols

1931 - John Nichols Dalton was born on the 11th of July in Radford, VA.

Graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

1978-1982 - Served as Governor of the U.S. state of Virginia.

Dalton Middle School, in Radford, Virginia, is named after the former governor.

1986 - Although a non-smoker, Dalton died on 30th of July at age 55 of lung cancer.

His son-in-law, Steve Baril, sought the 2005 Republican nomination for attorney general of Virginia.
