1961 – He was born on the 25th day of August this year in Flatwoods, Kentucky.

1973 - His parents divorced during his youth and his grandfather, who was a Pentecostal preacher, died when he was twelve years old.

1978 – He was a part of Russell, Kentucky's first state championship high school football team.

1990 – He signed to Mercury Records after moving to Los Angeles alone.

1993 – He was scheduled to perform for Queen Elizabeth II. He failed to render a performance due to family reasons.

1999 – He starred in the independent film Radical Jack.
