1925 - Bernard Schwartz, better known as Tony Curtis, was born on June 3rd in New York City.

1942-1945 - Served in the US Navy aboard a submarine tender. Witnessed the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay, September, from a vantage point 300 yards away.

1949 - His first film was the noir classic Criss Cross with Burt Lancaster and Yvonne De Carlo, and his first leading role was The Prince Who Was a Thief with Piper Laurie.

         - Classic films include Sweet Smell of Success with Lancaster again, The Defiant Ones with Sidney Poitier, Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot with Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe, and Spartacus with Kirk Douglas. Curtis played Albert DeSalvo in The Boston Strangler and Harry Houdini in Houdini with Janet Leigh (his first wife).

1952 - Married to Janet Leigh on June 4th.

1953 - He was the endorser of R. J. Reynolds Camel cigarettes.

1963 - Married to Christine Kaufman on February 8th.

1968 - Married to Leslie Allen on April 20th.

1970 - He was arrested for drug possession of marijuana at Heathrow Airport and in later years he snorted cocaine with his daughter, Jamie Lee Curtis. He says he is now clean and sober.

1981-1984 - Curtis was paid a $50,000 advance by Doubleday Books to write a novel, but when he turned in the manuscript 3 years after, they declared it unreadable and sued to recover the advance.

         - Married to Andrea Savio.

1993 - Married to Lisa Deutsch on February 28th.

1994 - He had heart bypass surgery.

1998 - Married to Jill Vandenberg on November 6th.

2007 - Hospitalized with pneumonia in January.
